Construction
The Los Angeles Daily Journal referred to Lewis Brisbois as "a litigation powerhouse". Nowhere in the firm's various practice areas is this description more appropriate than in the firm's construction litigation practice. Lead by capable, trial tested partners, the firm's Construction Practice is staffed by nearly 80 construction law attorneys representing each of the firm's nationwide offices. Our construction litigators regularly represent government entities, public and private developers, general contractors, sub-contractors/artisans and design professionals in cases involving alleged design and construction defects, and construction fee disputes. The firm's construction defect lawyers have tried cases in virtually every area of construction in both residential and commercial projects.
We also maintain an active surety and fidelity bond practice with extensive experience in contract and commercial surety, fidelity issues ranging from license bonds to complex international fidelity investigations, commercial surety, contract surety, the investigation of employee dishonesty policies, financial institution bonds and other types of fiduciary bonds. The firm's construction lawyers have vast experience in defending construction accident claims including regular representation of our building industry clients in claims arising from the use of scaffold systems, shoring, demolition and heavy machinery in industrial, commercial and residential projects.
The Construction Practice also has demonstrated skills in the interpretation and litigation of claims arising out of indemnity agreements and additional insured endorsements.
