Karl R. Loureiro


Karl Loureiro is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Construction Practice. Practicing since 1992, Mr. Loureiro has extensive experience in various areas of insurance law including direct representation of insureds in general liability and construction defect matters.

Mr. Loureiro has represented Homeowners Associations in numerous lawsuits in cases involving premises liability, inadequate security and construction related disputes (i.e. faulty construction to common property which has impacted and/or caused damage to individual units). Additionally Mr. Loureiro has represented Homeowners Associations and individual HOA board members in numerous lawsuits involving a wide variety of claims ranging from alleged discriminatory enforcement of CC&Rs to purported negligent and intentional breaches of duties in violation of California’s Davis-Stirling Act.

Furthermore, Mr. Loureiro represents owners, developers and/or builders which are seeking to identify development and real estate investment opportunities. Mr. Loureiro handles myriad types of product liability actions in the commercial and construction arena. In addition, Mr. Loureiro has extensive experience in defending lending institutions from personal injury actions including claims of improper design/layout and failure to warn at various banking locations. The following are general descriptions of his practice areas:
