Employment Webinar Series: Texas & Louisiana Employment Law Trends

New York, N.Y. (April 11, 2024) – Houston Partner William S. Helfand, Dallas Partner John M. Lynch, Lafayette Partner Jeffrey A. Riggs, and New York Partner Elior D. Shiloh will present an employment webinar, titled “Texas & Louisiana Employment Law Trends,” on April 30 at 12:00 p.m. ET.

During this informative 60-minute CLE session, our speakers will address current trends and developments that employers may and do face overseeing employees in Texas & Louisiana. Our panel will focus on new decisional law, and updated recommendations as well as best practices for defending employment claims in Texas & Louisiana. CLE credits are available.

Mr. Helfand serves as a vice-chair of Lewis Brisbois’ Labor & Employment Practice. His practice covers a wide range of litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution. Based on his demonstrated problem-solving approach, both private and public entity clients of all types reach out to him to handle their most difficult legal problems.   

Mr. Riggs is a member of the Professional Liability, Labor & Employment, Insurance Law, and Workers’ Compensation Practices. He is admitted to practice in Louisiana and Texas state and federal courts, and has represented clients and litigated throughout on a broad range of legal issues including employment and labor matters, insurance coverage and bad faith advice and litigation, general liability, contract drafting, interpretation and indemnity, as well as admiralty, maritime and energy.

Mr. Lynch is a member of the firm’s Labor & Employment practice. He and his group of dedicated professionals specialize in representing employers in discrimination suits, noncompete and trade secret matters, and other employment disputes. Mr. Lynch regularly represents employers in state and federal courts and administrative agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Texas Workforce Commission Civil Rights Division.

Mr. Shiloh serves as Chair of Lewis Brisbois’ Labor & Employment Practice. He focuses his practice on handling single-party and class employment disputes as well as non-compete, trade secret, and breach of contract matters. Mr. Shiloh has extensive courtroom experience in federal and state venues, including serving as first chair during trials and arguing complex motions. He maintains a diverse client base, representing businesses in litigation and regularly providing guidance on an array of complicated and high-risk matters.
