Philadelphia Office Successfully Defends Business Owner Charged With Various Crimes

(May 2021) - Philadelphia Partner Gregory J. Hurchalla successfully defended a business owner who was charged with various crimes in a business divorce matter between owners/stakeholders of a business. Greg, a former federal and state prosecutor, negotiated a few months prior to the scheduled criminal trial date the sale of Lewis Brisbois’ client’s interest in the business for a total value of seven figures and also defended a civil action seeking to take control of the business.

The client subsequently went to trial in the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas on the criminal matter last month, wherein a “not guilty” verdict was rendered on all charges. If convicted, the client would have faced a maximum of in excess of three years in prison.
