Sean Shecter Joins Lewis Brisbois' Government Investigations & White Collar Defense Practice Leadership Team

Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. (February 2, 2022) - Fort Lauderdale Partner Sean P. Shecter has been named a co-chair of Lewis Brisbois' Government Investigations & White Collar Defense Practice. In his new role, Mr. Shecter will join the practice's existing co-chairs, San Diego Partner Gary K. Brucker, Jr., Los Angeles Partner Craig Holden, and Washington, D.C. Managing Partner Jane C. Luxton, in furthering the growth and success of this integral practice.

A former federal prosecutor, Mr. Shecter joined Lewis Brisbois in October 2020 after serving as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Middle District of Florida. He currently focuses his practice on advising clients on “green” investigations, including violations of the Lacey Act, healthcare fraud and abuse matters, including violations of the False Claims Act and Anti-Kickback Statute, Office of Foreign Assets Control regulations, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, anti-money laundering laws, federal and state banking laws, U.S. tax and securities laws, privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA), and regulations concerning cryptocurrencies.

In addition, Mr. Shecter, who is also a member of Lewis Brisbois' Complex Business & Commercial Litigation and Sustainability and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Practices, has extensive experience conducting internal investigations, both domestically and on an international scale. Outside of his practice, Mr. Shecter was recently appointed to the Greater Fort Lauderdale Corporate Council and to his alma mater American University Washington College of Law’s Environmental and Energy Law Alumni Advisory Council.
