Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Team to Present “A Toast to the New Year – A Recap of 2023 and Preview of 2024”

Orange County, Calif. (November 13, 2023) – Lewis Brisbois' Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Partners Kamran Salour, Mandy Cartwright, and Tawana B. Johnson, along with Associate Sarah Estephan, will present a webinar titled “A Toast to the New Year – A Recap of 2023 and Preview of 2024,” on December 7 at 9:00 a.m. PT.

During this informative 60-minute CLE session, our speakers break down recent developments in these spaces and what to expect in the year to come. The presenters will provide a recap of privacy laws enacted in 2023 and laws to watch for in 2024, as well as practical advice for helping clients comply with these laws. This program will outline the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s breach reporting requirements, cybersecurity trends to watch for in 2024, and practical ways to help clients both prepare for a cybersecurity incident and minimize the impact of an incident.

Mr. Salour serves as Co-Chair of the Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice. He focuses his practice on leading his clients through the incident response process. Armed with years of experience as a litigator, Kamran provides his clients with a unique perspective on data privacy and protection issues.

Ms. Cartwright serves as Vice Chair of the Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice. Mandy counsels clients on cybersecurity incidents, privacy policies, privacy by design, data inventories and mapping, data retention and minimization, and privacy impact assessments. Mandy’s experience extends to technology transactions, data and software licensing/usage, and readying companies for mergers and acquisitions.

Ms. Johnson is a Vice Chair of the Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice, focusing on helping clients respond to cybersecurity incidents, comply with state and federal data privacy requirements, and respond to state and federal regulatory investigations. Tawana consults as data breach counsel for clients who have experienced cybersecurity incidents, including business email compromise, wire fraud and ransomware attacks.

Ms. Estephan has experience providing counsel on compliance with cybersecurity and data privacy legislation and regulations, as well as experience with managing data privacy and cyber incidents. She assists clients with drafting data privacy and cybersecurity policies and procedures, and with implementing corporate compliance and privacy programs.
