Andrew Gard

Associate

Andrew Gard is an associate in the Portland office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the General Liability, Medical Malpractice, Long-Term Care, and Environmental, Land, & Natural Resources Law Practices.

Andrew most recently clerked for the Multnomah County Circuit Court for Judge Thomas Ryan. While there, Andrew worked closely with the judge by drafting memos to inform his opinions and wrote orders for criminal matters.

During law school, Andrew externed for the U.S. Department of Justice's Environmental and Natural Resources Division focusing on Takings and water rights law. Additionally, he volunteered as a Title IX student advocate. In that role, Andrew advocated for students from different universities as they went through their schools’ Title IX adjudication process. This included cross examining witnesses and developing trial strategies.

Outside of the classroom, Andrew was the Notes and Comments Editor for the Environmental Law Review and was a Student Director for the Northwest Environmental Defense Center. Prior to law school, he worked in hospitality management which allowed him the opportunity to live in different national parks and forests throughout the United States.

In his spare time, Andrew prefers to go outside for hiking, camping, or snowboarding.
