Lewis Brisbois Expands Insurance Coverage Capabilities in the South With Experienced Partner Hires

Jackson, Miss. (May 3, 2024) - Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome Doug Morgan and Scott Murray to its Jackson, Mississippi office as partners in the firm’s Insurance Coverage and Bad Faith Litigation Practices. Messrs. Morgan and Murray have been practicing in the insurance coverage space for 24 years and 16 years, respectively, and join Lewis Brisbois from a boutique insurance coverage firm.

Both attorneys focus their practices on insurance coverage analysis, opinions, consulting, disputes, litigation, arbitration, and appeals. They have extensive experience representing domestic and foreign insurers and reinsurers in a wide range of first-party and third-party insurance coverage matters, including property, all risk, builder’s risk, delay in start-up, refinery, and energy losses, commercial general liability, construction defect claims, and professional liability. Messrs. Morgan and Murray have handled complex insurance disputes throughout the country, including in Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Texas, Washington, North Carolina, South Carolina, New York, and Pennsylvania. Mr. Morgan has extensive experience representing London-based insurers, leveraging a deep understanding of their specialized needs. In addition to their insurance coverage work, the two attorneys also have significant experience defending insurers against bad faith claims.

Mr. Morgan earned his law degree from the University of Mississippi and his undergraduate degree from James Madison University. He is admitted to practice in federal and state courts in Mississippi as well as before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Mr. Murray earned his law degree, summa cum laude, and his undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi. He is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in Mississippi and Alabama, as well as before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Fourth and Fifth Circuits.
