Robert Walker Speaks with American Lawyer About New Cybersecurity Team’s Move to Lewis Brisbois

Jackson, Ms. (February 10, 2023) - Jackson, Mississippi Partner Robert Walker, CIPP/US, who serves as a chair of Lewis Brisbois’ Data Privacy & Cybersecurity (DPCS) Practice, recently spoke with The American Lawyer (part of Law.com) regarding his team’s move to the firm. As the article describes, Mr. Walker, along with New Orleans Partner Ross Molina, Atlanta Partner Tawana Johnson, Jackson Associates Erica Lloyd and Rachel Pitts, and Houston Associate Ryan Cook, joined Lewis Brisbois from Wilson Elser on February 6.

Mr. Walker told The American Lawyer, “It was a better opportunity with a better platform with client connections and carrier connections . . . . I thought it was a better opportunity for my team as a whole to grow the work we’ve already been doing. The full nationwide coverage of the firm, the size of the firm and the resources available and the connections they have; it was all a big draw for me.”

In addition, Mr. Walker explained that his team’s clients – many of which are in the healthcare and professional services sectors – responded positively to the move, and that the “vast majority” of them intend to continue to work with the team at Lewis Brisbois. He further noted that one of his priorities will be to bolster the firm’s DPCS Practice with attorneys who serve clients in other key markets. “My team is Southeastern-based currently, so we are looking to expand the geographic scope to closely match the footprint of the firm,” he said.
