Michael Gnesin Speaks to Law360 About Move to Lewis Brisbois, Work on Firm’s Ukraine Conflict Response Team

Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. (June 28, 2022) - Fort Lauderdale and Chicago Partner Michael Gnesin recently spoke to Law360 for an article about joining Lewis Brisbois and how his background informs his work with companies that are facing challenges related to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

As the article describes, Mr. Gnesin, who joined Lewis Brisbois earlier this month, practices in the firm’s Corporate, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Securities & Corporate Finance Practices. Having immigrated from the Soviet Union when he was seven years old, he also currently works with Lewis Brisbois’ Ukraine Conflict Response team, helping organizations with corporate-related issues stemming from the conflict.

Mr. Gnesin told Law360 that at the time he immigrated to the United States, he was too young to entirely understand the risk that his parents were taking. “Being older and with more understanding now, I can see the extreme hardships and burdens being put on families and business due to the conflict," he said. "Therefore, I want to do everything I can to assist refugee families and businesses and to educate and give the U.S. population a front row seat, from my experienced point of view, of the deep struggles being faced due to the Ukraine-Russia conflict."

In addition, Mr. Gnesin explained that he was looking forward to contributing to Lewis Brisbois’ business transaction practice. “Professionally, I am very competitive and passionate about providing top notch client service and gaining client trust in order to be their go-to counselor for all life matters," he said. "To get a note from a client that the job was done perfectly is extremely rewarding."
