Mayra Salinas-Menjivar Recognized by HNBA as Top Lawyer Under 40

Las Vegas, Nev. (February 20, 2020) – Las Vegas Associate Mayra Salinas-Menjivar has been selected by the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) to receive its prestigious 2020 “Top Lawyers Under 40” award. Following a rigorous review process, Ms. Salinas-Menjivar was chosen along with 27 other highly qualified lawyers “who have demonstrated professional excellence, integrity, leadership, commitment to the Hispanic community, and dedication to improving the legal profession,” according to a press release from the HNBA.

“I am honored to receive this award and look forward to working with the HNBA to further advance diversity in the legal profession,” said Ms. Salinas-Menjivar.

Ms. Salinas-Menjivar is a member of Lewis Brisbois’ Insurance Coverage Practice, handling first-party bad faith claims and coverage disputes in the State of Nevada. After earning her law degree from William S. Boyd School of Law, she joined the UNLV Immigration Clinic at the Thomas & Mack Legal Clinic, becoming the first University Legal Services Fellow and developing a pilot program for immigration legal services geared towards UNLV students. During her time with this clinic, Ms. Salinas-Menjivar handled complex asylum, bond, and deportation defense litigation, including appeals before the Ninth Circuit, and helped develop state and federal policy. She currently serves as President of the Latino Bar Association and Deputy for Region XIV of the HNBA.
