Lewis Brisbois to Present Webinar on Understanding the Promise & Legal Perils Related to AI

Chicago, Ill. (February 16, 2024) - Lewis Brisbois' newly established Artificial Intelligence Task Force will discuss the intersection between AI and various aspects of the law, including public policy and recent pronouncements by the FTC, in a webinar on February 28 at 12:00 p.m. PT.

In addition, attorneys will provide their unique perspective to draw parallels between regulation around biometric information laws and emerging artificial intelligence legal risks, including how businesses of all sizes should be focused on looking forward to make sure they stay ahead of the incoming regulation around AI.

Finally, as AI continues to develop at a breathtaking rate, Lewis Brisbois attorneys will discuss how to implement an appropriate risk management strategy.

Mr. Kantrow, who co-hosts Lewis Brisbois’ BIPA Radar podcast series, has deep experience defending technology litigation matters, including cases involving BIPA, cybersecurity, data privacy/network security, and software developers. He also regularly handles complex business litigation matters, including class action litigation, throughout the United States.

Ms. Smigielski is the co-chair of Lewis Brisbois' BIPA Practice, the first in the nation, and head of the firm's Chicago Labor & Employment team. She has been on the cutting edge of BIPA litigation, frequently providing commentary to legal news outlets on the topic. She co-hosts Lewis Brisbois' BIPA Radar podcast.

Mr. Shecter – a former federal prosecutor – serves as co-chair of Lewis Brisbois’ Government Investigations & White Collar Defense Practice, as chair of its Supply Chain Due Diligence Practice, and as a member of its AI Task Force. In addition to having extensive experience defending clients in regulatory, white-collar criminal, and complex civil litigation matters, he is proficient in advising clients on emerging AI regulations and compliance issues.
