John Long to Moderate Infractions Panel at NACDA Convention

Houston, Texas (June 22, 2022) – Houston Partner John Long will moderate a panel at the upcoming National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC) conference, as part of the National Association of College Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Convention, hosted at Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas from June 26-29.

In an informative 45-minute session on June 28 at 3:00 p.m. PT titled “Level I and Level II Violations: Navigating the Infractions Process,” Mr. Long will lead a discussion on how NCAA-affiliated collegiate institutions handle allegations of major NCAA infractions, including allegations involving name image and likeness violations, lack of institutional control, failure to monitor, unethical conduct and head coach responsibility. He will be joined by NCAA Managing Director of Enforcement Brynna Barnhart, Ohio State University Assistant Athletic Director Paia LaPalombara, attorney Kyle Skillman, and University of Tennessee Deputy AD Cameron Walker.

Mr. Long is a member of the Entertainment, Media & Sports Practice. His practice is exclusively focused on counseling institutions, athletics conferences, affiliated corporations and individuals in collegiate sports law matters, including those involving NCAA infractions, NCAA compliance, student-athlete name, image and likeness and Title IX. Mr. Long has extensive experience representing institutions in cases before the NCAA Committee on Infractions, Infractions Appeals Committee and NCAA Committee on Academics.
