Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Team to Present DANY CLE Seminar

New York, N.Y. (September 27, 2023) – Lewis Brisbois’ Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Partners Kamran Salour, Joshua R. Hecker, Carrie C. Turner, and Associate Sarah Estephan will present a Defense Association of New York (DANY) seminar on October 3 at 5:30 p.m. ET.

This CLE session will be divided up into two hour-long sessions, “Cybersecurity for Lawyers - Yes, You are a Target,” and “Data Protection for Lawyers - You Owe It to Your Client.” Attendees will gain key insights into common threat tactics and skills needed to protect sensitive information and clients' data from cyber threats, and how to protect confidentiality of client data to maintain ethical obligations.

Mr. Salour is Co-Chair of the Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice. He focuses his practice on leading his clients through the incident response process. This process includes directing forensic investigations, developing post-incident response notification plans, and responding to regulatory investigations.

Mr. Hecker specializes in Data Privacy & Cybersecurity with extensive litigation experience. After honing his communication, negotiation and analytical skills through years of litigation experience in New York, he now takes a risk-based approach in assisting and navigating clients through the digital forensics and incident response process following a cybersecurity incident.

Ms. Turner has over 12 years of experience counseling leading insurance companies and litigating a wide variety of insurance and general commercial litigation claims. She holds the Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) credential.

Ms. Estephan has experience providing counsel on compliance with cybersecurity and data privacy legislation and regulations, as well as experience with managing data privacy and cyber incidents. She assists clients with drafting data privacy and cybersecurity policies and procedures, and with implementing corporate compliance and privacy programs.
