Aaron Koenck Co-Authors OGEL Article on Enforcing Compliance with Local Content Requirements

Houston, Texas (November 11, 2021) - Houston Associate Aaron E. Koenck recently co-authored an article for Oil, Gas & Energy Law (OGEL), discussing local content rules (LCRs) in the oil and gas industry.

In the 7-section article titled "Carrot or Stick? Enforcing Compliance with Local Content Requirements in the International Oil and Gas Industry," Mr. Koenck and his co-authors discuss incentives for compliance (carrot) and penalties for noncompliance (stick) with LCRs in various international jurisdictions. They provide an overview of historical influences, goals, and considerations for LCRs, and the contemporary approach adopted by various countries to ensure compliance.

OGEL is a peer-reviewed academic journal covering all aspects of law pertaining to oil, gas, and energy. It focuses on international energy companies, governmental organizations, law firms, international agencies, and academic and think-tank institutions in the field of energy policy and various NGOs.

Mr. Koenck is a member of the Insurance Coverage and Bad Faith Litigation Practices. His practice focuses on bad faith and insurance coverage matters in Louisiana and Texas and he is also admitted to practice in Washington D.C.
