Aaron Koenck Co-Authors OGEL Article on Enforcing Compliance with Local Content Requirements
Houston, Texas (November 11, 2021) - Houston Associate Aaron E. Koenck recently co-authored an article for Oil, Gas & Energy Law (OGEL), discussing local content rules (LCRs) in the oil and gas industry.
In the 7-section article titled "Carrot or Stick? Enforcing Compliance with Local Content Requirements in the International Oil and Gas Industry," Mr. Koenck and his co-authors discuss incentives for compliance (carrot) and penalties for noncompliance (stick) with LCRs in various international jurisdictions. They provide an overview of historical influences, goals, and considerations for LCRs, and the contemporary approach adopted by various countries to ensure compliance.
