David A. Young is a partner in the Lafayette office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the General Liability Practice. David is licensed to practice in all State and Federal Courts in Louisiana and is a Member of the United States Supreme Court Bar. David’s representation spans pre-litigation consultation, trial-level representation, and appellate-level representation. David’s defense litigation practice primarily focuses on the general liability field with emphases on insurance coverage, automobile, employment, property, premise liability, and commercial/transactional litigation. David has significant experience in the private sector, having formerly been general counsel and CAO of a mid-cap, privately-held company. He also has significant experience working in the public sector, having formerly represented various Departments and Agencies in Louisiana as an Assistant Attorney General. During his time as an Assistant Attorney General, David focused on matters concerning civil rights, employment, road hazards, transportation, general liability, and legislative, regulatory, and administrative law.

A native of California, David has been a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association since 1998. He is graduate of the University of San Francisco (B.S., 1991, cum laude), Pepperdine University School of Law (J.D., 1994), and the University of Louisiana – Lafayette (M.B.A., 2013, magna cum laude). David previously served as a Law Clerk for United States District Court Judge Richard T. Haik (USDC – Western District of Louisiana) and United States Magistrate Mildred E. Methvin (USDC – Western District of Louisiana).
