Jonathan M. Turnbaugh is an associate in the New York office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the General Liability and Appellate Practices. Jonathan concentrates his practice on drafting and arguing appeals and substantive motions in New York State trial and appellate courts in general liability, labor law, and professional liability matters, among others. In addition, Jonathan utilizes his talent for research and writing to partner with and support trial counsel in New York State courts by drafting motions in limine and post-trial motions, and providing appellate perspective throughout trial, including preserving the trial record for post-trial motion and/or appeal. 

Jonathan brings a wealth of experience in all stages litigation, having represented medical centers and health systems, academic medical centers, individual physicians, and other healthcare professionals in an extensive array of complex, high exposure medical liability actions for over a decade, with particular attention to case development, legal research, litigation strategy, liability evaluation, and motion practice. He has drafted and argued numerous dispositive motions leading to the dismissal of a number of high exposure cases. Jonathan also has experience defending individuals, businesses, and municipal entities in general liability, premises liability, and labor law matters. 

Jonathan is a Graduate of the Maurice A. Dean School of Law at Hofstra University, where he served as a Senior Editor for the Journal of International Business and Law and President of the Hofstra Trial Advocacy Association. In addition, he received Hofstra’s Citation of Excellence in Criminal Law. Jonathan received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Villanova University. He is admitted to practice in the State of New York.
