Sam F. Hanna

Sam F. Hanna is a partner in the New York office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the General Liability and Healthcare practice groups, where he focuses on the defense of health care agencies, businesses and non-profit organizations in general liability, premises liability, and negligent hiring/supervision matters.

Prior to Lewis Brisbois, Mr. Hanna practiced civil defense for a regional law firm, where he specialized in defending matters involving toxic tort, railroad and automobile transportation, products liability, premises liability, and New York construction and labor law. 

Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Hanna was an Assistant Prosecutor with the Essex County Prosecutor's Office in Newark, New Jersey, where he prosecuted and successfully tried first and second degree crimes to guilty verdicts, including homicide, aggravated assault, and unlawful weapons possession cases. As a Judicial Law Clerk in the Middlesex Vicinage of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Mr. Hanna also successfully mediated cases involving landlord-tenant and small claims disputes, as well as drafted bench memoranda on pre- and post-trial motions involving matters in the Civil and Criminal Divisions.

Legal Experience

While earning his law degree at Rutgers University School of Law, Mr. Hanna served as the Managing Notes and Comments Editor of the Rutgers Computer & Technology Law Journal, and participated in the Robert F. Wagner National Labor & Employment Law Moot Court Competition.
