Sean Hoar to Join York University Law School Webcast Discussing Cybersecurity Best Practices
Toronto, Canada (October 21, 2020) – Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Chair Sean B. Hoar will join an online panel hosted by York University’s Osgoode Hall Law School Professional Development Program on November 20 and 27 at 9:00 a.m. ET to discuss cybersecurity best practices.
Titled “Data Breaches & Cybersecurity Incidents: The Legal Guide to Preparedness and Response,” the panel discussion will analyze the sometimes overwhelming world of cybersecurity and cover how to prevent, prepare for, and protect from a data breach incident. Mr. Hoar and his fellow panelists will also use a sample case scenario to demonstrate how to effectively counter potential cyberthreats and actual cyberattacks.
Mr. Hoar is a partner in Lewis Brisbois’ Portland office. He has extensive experience managing responses to digital crises and is a frequent speaker and commentator on cybersecurity issues in the law, as well as a regular contributor to the firm's Digital Insights blog.
