Ken Joyce Assumes Chair of Florida Judicial Nominating Commission

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (July 24, 2019) – Fort Lauderdale Partner Kenneth J. Joyce recently assumed the Chair of the State of Florida’s 17th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission (JNC). Mr. Joyce was appointed to the JNC by the Florida Governor in 2017 and voted by his fellow Commissioners to serve as Chair for the term beginning July 1, 2019.

Each JNC is comprised of nine members who are charged with evaluating and recommending candidates who apply for judicial office. The Commission submits three to six names of the most highly qualified applicants to the Governor, who makes the final selection from that list.

Mr. Joyce is Co-Chair of the Lewis Brisbois’ Complex Business & Commercial Litigation Practice. He has over 25 years of litigation experience representing entities and individuals in high stakes business litigation matters. Please join us in congratulating him on his new role as Chair of the JNC.
