Frank Gillman Quoted by ABA Journal in Data Security Article

Los Angeles, California, October 3, 2018—Lewis Brisbois Chief Information Security Officer Frank Gillman was quoted in a recent article by the American Bar Association Journal titled “Alternatives to Email Give Law Clients Secure Communication Options”.

The article discusses recent failures in communication encryption technology, and how these failures impact the legal profession. It also highlights other means of secure legal communication, such as online portals, and reviews the benefits and drawbacks of each. Mr. Gillman comments on the effectiveness of end-to-end encryption messaging applications.

“Most secure messaging applications have insufficient complexity of features for broader business purposes early in their life cycles,” Gillman says, adding that the lack of features “lowers usage adoption rates among professionals like lawyers.”

“Security concerns, while clearly viewed as critically important, will always place second next to the ability to quickly and effectively service and communicate with clients.”
