Erin Cain is an associate in the New York office of the Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Labor & Employment Practice. She represents businesses in labor and employment matters including those involving discrimination, retaliation, and harassment, hostile work environment, and sexual harassment in both federal and state court and before various administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the New York State Division of Human Rights and the New York City Commission on Human Rights. Erin is a member of the ADA Compliance Group and handles both ADA website accessibility cases and cases where physical ADA violations are alleged.

Prior to joining Lewis Brisbois, Erin worked at a national insurance carrier handling Employment Practices Liability Insurance claims. Erin’s insurance-related experience included reaching determinations related to coverage of employment claims, fact investigation, and development of strategy related to potential settlement or litigation of her cases, including evaluation of potential damages and liability of the carrier’s insureds. Erin’s extensive experience in the in the insurance industry, more specifically with employment claims, is a valuable part of her experience and her contribution to Lewis Brisbois’ Employment group where she handles both private client and insurance defense cases. 

Erin’s prior experience also includes her former position as an associate attorney at a regional Northeast law firm handling General Liability Insurance coverage matters. These cases were principally related to the recall of medications and medical devices and the defense of large pharmaceutical companies or the evaluation of insurance coverage on behalf of national and international insurance companies. Erin’s experience also includes the defense of businesses with respect to professional liability cases including legal malpractice and construction liability.
