Lewis Brisbois Grows New York Office With Addition of PJ Bottari
New York, NY (November 1, 2017) – Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome Paul J. Bottari to its New York office as a member of its esteemed trial team.
Bottari brings with him considerable trial experience, including a background defending high-profile negligence accidents involving catastrophic injuries. Bottari has also defended public and private landlords against lead poisoning claims and represents municipalities in toxic tort cases and other municipal liability matters.
“I’m very excited to have PJ join us and deepen our already accomplished trial bench. His addition comes at a key time as we grow our footprint and make significant strides in the New York market, which necessitated expanding our lease earlier this month,” said New York Managing Partner Gregory S. Katz. “The New York office continues to strengthen its trial and appellate teams to ensure all cases that cannot be resolved on favorable terms can be brought to trial.”
Bottari’s areas of focus include construction litigation, transportation, complex tort and general casualty, and toxic tort. He has successfully unraveled complex issues in construction litigation relating to liability and insurance coverage and is considered an authority on toxic torts, participating in numerous seminars on the topic and authoring several articles and a book published by the American Bar Association.
“Lewis Brisbois is a firm on the rise in the New York area, and I’m excited to be part of their team. They’re growing and progressive and their best days are still ahead of them,” Bottari said.
Bottari is particularly effective at the art of cross-examining expert witnesses, especially for experts involved in treating neurological disorders and mental health conditions and for economists. He speaks frequently on the subject with clients and other attorneys and is often called in to advise during trial.
A member of the New York City Trial Lawyers Alliance, Bottari has been recognized by the organization with a lifetime achievement award. Bottari is also a former member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and intends to rejoin the association.
