Alexander Higginbotham

Associate

Alexander Higginbotham is an associate in the Kansas City office of Lewis Brisbois and is a member of the Labor & Employment Practice.

Alexander is a 2018 graduate of the University of Missouri, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and Sociology, a Minor in History, and a Certificate in Constitutional Democracy. He graduated with his Juris Doctorate in 2021 from the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Law. 

Upon finishing law school, he worked at the Clay County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, where he served as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney and as Public Information Officer. As a prosecutor, Alexander litigated a wide variety of cases, ranging from civil actions to enforce, establish, or modify orders for child support to criminal prosecutions of violent felonies. As Public Information Officer, he served as the official spokesperson for the office, drafting press releases, organizing press conferences, and responding to all media or public inquires. 

During law school, Alexander served on the UMKC Law Review, finished first place and received "Best Closing Argument" in the 1L Mock Trial Competition, served as the Chief Justice of the UMKC Student Supreme Court, as a committee chair in the Student Bar Association, on the Steering Committee for the FBI Student Academy, and as the president/magister of the Powell Inn chapter of Phi Delta Phi. He also completed internships in the chambers of the Honorable Roseann A. Ketchmark at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri, in the U.S. Attorney's Office, and at the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office. 

In 2024, Alexander joined the litigation team at Lewis Brisbois where he now brings his passion for advocacy and experience in the courtroom to deliver results for clients.
