Christy E. Jachimowski is a partner in the Hartford office of Lewis Brisbois with over ten years of experience litigating complex and high exposure matters. Ms. Jachimowski focuses her practice on employment, general liability, construction defect, products liability, and asbestos/toxic tort exposure in New York, Connecticut state and federal courts, and Massachusetts state and federal courts. She also regularly handles agency matters including cases filed in the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities and the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.

Ms. Jachimowski handles all phases of litigation from advising clients after initial losses and defending cases in suit from inception through trial, including discovery, motion practice, taking and defending depositions, and attending mediations, pretrial conferences and arbitrations. She additionally advises and assists employers on a wide-range of employee matters including employee agreements, employee handbooks, workplace policies and procedures, and general Human Resources issues.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Jachimowski spent seven years working for staff counsel offices for two Fortune 500 insurance companies where she successfully tried several jury trials through verdict.

Prior Experience

While in law school, Ms. Jachimowski had the unique opportunity to work extensively on an amicus curiae brief for the Appellate Court, regarding domestic violence and divorce issues. She also gained experience with employment law while working as a law clerk for a small Connecticut employment firm.

When Ms. Jachimowski first got out of law school, she worked as an associate for a small personal injury and family law firm which allowed her to gain exposure to the areas of personal injury, workers’ compensation and matrimonial law.
