Lewis Brisbois Welcomes Marissa Kelley to Fort Lauderdale Commercial Litigation Team

Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome Marissa D. Kelley as a partner in its Fort Lauderdale office. Ms. Kelley joins the firm’s Complex Business & Commercial Litigation Practice and brings nearly two decades of experience representing clients on a wide range of commercial business disputes.

Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. (July 24, 2019) – Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome Marissa D. Kelley as a partner in its Fort Lauderdale office. Ms. Kelley joins the firm’s Complex Business & Commercial Litigation Practice and brings nearly two decades of experience representing clients on a wide range of commercial business disputes.

“We’re very happy to have Marissa as part of the team,” said Fort Lauderdale Managing Partner Michael G. Platner. “She’ll be a great asset to our growing commercial practice not just in South Florida, but across the firm.”

Ms. Kelley works with clients across many industries, including hospitality, aviation, education, and real estate development. She regularly advises business owners on a variety of legal issues, including commercial real estate disputes, unpaid debts, disputes between landlords and tenants, and workplace situations involving difficult employees.

In addition to representing clients in trial and appellate courts at the state and federal level, Ms. Kelley assists parties and their counsel as both a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Court Mediator and a Florida Supreme Court Qualified Arbitrator.

Ms. Kelley received her bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from Florida Atlantic University, and her law degree, magna cum laude, from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center, where she has taught as an adjunct professor. She is admitted to the State Bar of Florida, as well as the three U.S. District Courts of Florida and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

Joyce, who also recently assumed the Chair of the Florida 17th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission as of July 1, 2019.
