Kayla E. Berlin is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Insurance Law practice group. She principally handles pre-litigation coverage matters and litigation of bad faith disputes arising out of first-party policies in both personal and commercial lines, including automobile, homeowners, renters, and commercial property policies. She has extensively litigated property losses under personal and commercial policies, including water, fire, wind, and catastrophic losses. Ms. Berlin also has significant experience with respect to investigation and litigation of suspected fraudulent claims. 

Ms. Berlin has been practicing law since 2015, exclusively practicing in the area of insurance law. Her zealous advocacy for her clients has resulted in a substantial number of cases being dismissed at the pleading stage, as well as substantial success in obtaining summary judgment and summary adjudication on behalf of insurers in bad faith and insurance coverage litigation. As part of the practice group’s trial team, she has won defense verdicts on behalf of carriers in matters involving bad faith and insurance coverage issues. Ms. Berlin has represented insurers in examinations under oath and at deposition with respect to homeowners, automobile, and commercial property claims.
