Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (May 16, 2023) – Fort Lauderdale Partner Marcela Gyires was recently selected to serve on The Florida Bar’s Immigration & Nationality Law Certification Committee for the 2023-2024 term.

Ms. Gyires is board certified in Immigration and Nationality Law by The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education, and in her new role on this certification committee, she will assist in the preparation of the examination and the evaluation of potential applicants for board certification. The certification committee is also responsible for increasing awareness of board certification through interaction with Bar sections, substantive law committees, the courts, and the public at large.

According to The Florida Bar, board certification is “Florida’s official, independent determination of a lawyer’s expertise to practice in a specialty field of law. It is the gold standard for Florida lawyers, representing a recognition by a lawyer’s peers that they have attained a level of professional expertise in their chosen fields.”

Ms. Gyires is a member of the Immigration Practice. For a decade prior to joining Lewis Brisbois, she focused her practice on all aspects of immigration law at a boutique full service Immigration Law firm in South Florida. Last year, she was inducted to the Palm Beach County Hispanic Bar Association (PBCHBA) Board.
