Lewis Brisbois Expands Madison County Offering with Addition of Five Attorneys, Including Three Partners

Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome five new attorneys to its Madison County, Illinois office, which brings the expanding location’s headcount to 54, including 23 lawyers. The newest members of the Madison County team - Partners Daniel Bradley, Travis Campbell, and Michael Pagan, as well as Associates Nicholas Martin and Matthew Plese – have a combined 80+ years of legal experience across several areas of law.

Edwardsville, Ill. (March 20, 2023) - Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome five new attorneys to its Madison County, Illinois office, which brings the expanding location’s headcount to 54, including 23 lawyers. The newest members of the Madison County team - Partners Daniel Bradley, Travis Campbell, and Michael Pagan, as well as Associates Nicholas Martin and Matthew Plese – have a combined 80+ years of legal experience across several areas of law.

Daniel Bradley
Mr. Bradley is a member of the firm’s General Liability Practice. With 25 years of legal experience, he is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and has served as lead counsel in 55 jury trials. He has also successfully handled dozens of arbitrations and mediations. His practice includes matters involving personal injury, motor vehicle incidents, trucking accidents, and premises liability issues. Mr. Bradley said that in deciding to join Lewis Brisbois, the firm’s national reach appealed to him, as did the opportunity to work with the Madison County team. “I have known Jeff Bash and Chase Anderson for years and am very happy to be working with them now.” Mr. Bradley received his law and undergraduate degrees from Southern Illinois University. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and Missouri.

Travis Campbell
Mr. Campbell, a lifelong resident of Madison County, focuses his practice on the defense of asbestos, toxic tort, and commercial disputes. With almost 20 years of experience, he has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America for his work in the commercial litigation field. Mr. Campbell commented that he believes the Lewis Brisbois Madison County office has established itself as a premier defense firm in Southern Illinois. “I’m very excited to contribute to the office’s continued growth and success in this region.” Mr. Campbell received his law and undergraduate degrees from the University of Illinois. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and Missouri.

Michael Pagan
Mr. Pagan, who also has been practicing for 20 years, focuses on asbestos matters across several industries including automotive, pharmaceutical, electrical power, and construction. He has served as first and second chair for trials and arbitrations and has defended more than 1,000 depositions during his career. In describing his move to Lewis Brisbois, Mr. Pagan explained that he was looking forward to the expanding nature of the toxic tort work in Madison County, noting, “Lewis Brisbois already does a great job for its clients. I hope that my perspectives and experiences will help serve these clients and promote further growth in the asbestos area.” Prior to joining Lewis Brisbois, Mr. Pagan spent more than a year heading a significant volume of plaintiff-side Camp Lejeune litigation, and before that, leading a breach of warranty/Lemon Law defense practice. Mr. Pagan received his law and undergraduate degrees from St. Louis University. He is admitted to practice in Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, and North Carolina.

Nicholas Martin
Mr. Martin joins the firm as an associate attorney with seven years of experience. He is a member of the General Liability group and has already tried three cases to verdict since joining. Mr. Martin is also licensed in both Illinois and Missouri.

Matthew Plese
Mr. Plese, a Madison County native, joins the firm with 10 years of experience in general liability and asbestos. He is licensed in both Illinois and Missouri and excited to help the firm continue to deepen its bench in the Metro St. Louis region.
