Lewis Brisbois Boosts SEC Regulatory Enforcement, Securities Litigation Capabilities with Addition of Accomplished Former SEC Litigator
Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome accomplished former SEC litigator and trial attorney Paul W. Kisslinger to its Washington, D.C. office as chair of the firm’s newly established SEC Enforcement & Litigation Practice.
Washington, D.C. (January 4, 2023) - Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome accomplished former SEC litigator and trial attorney Paul W. Kisslinger to its Washington, D.C. office as chair of the firm’s newly established SEC Enforcement & Litigation Practice. Mr. Kisslinger’s other practice areas will include Complex Business & Commercial Litigation, Securities and Corporate Finance, Government Investigations and White Collar Defense, Government Relations, and Sustainability & Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG).
Mr. Kisslinger joins Lewis Brisbois from the Enforcement Division of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), where he served as Assistant Chief Litigation Counsel. Over the course of his 18-year tenure with the SEC, he investigated, ran, and tried some of the agency’s most complex enforcement matters involving the full range of its portfolio, including public company disclosures, corporate governance, public accounting and auditing standards, bribery and corruption, market manipulation, insider trading, and the regulation of accountants, broker-dealers, investment advisers, and funds. He also recently completed a one-year detail as Counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Reform.
Prior to his tenure with the SEC, Mr. Kisslinger practiced at two national law firms where he represented public and privately-held corporate clients in a broad spectrum of commercial and corporate litigation, internal and external investigations, antitrust, and regulatory enforcement matters. He has extensive first chair experience in federal and state jury and bench trials, appeals, and administrative proceedings, as well as national and international arbitrations.
Sharing his thoughts on his move to Lewis Brisbois, Mr. Kisslinger explained, “I’m looking forward to reentering private practice because I love working with clients and bringing effective strategic approaches to resolving their legal issues. Lewis Brisbois provides an ideal platform to launch my return to private practice, as it is such a large firm with a number of established practices that cross into my areas of expertise. I’m also looking forward to applying my SEC experience in a dynamic new setting.”

Outside of his practice, Mr. Kisslinger regularly serves as an adjunct professor for the George Washington University School of Law. He also frequently speaks and writes on litigation and regulatory enforcement-related topics. Mr. Kisslinger received his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He is admitted to practice in Washington, D.C., New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
