Lewis Brisbois Adds Accomplished Toxic Tort Litigators to Philadelphia Office

Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome two accomplished litigators – Stephen M. Capriotti, Jr. and Liza Stagliano – to its Philadelphia office. Both partners are members of the firm’s Toxic Tort & Environmental Litigation, Class Action & Mass Tort, Asbestos Litigation, and Life Sciences Practices.

Philadelphia, Penn. (September 12, 2022) - Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome two accomplished litigators – Stephen M. Capriotti, Jr. and Liza Stagliano – to its Philadelphia office. Both partners are members of the firm’s Toxic Tort & Environmental Litigation, Class Action & Mass Tort, Asbestos Litigation, and Life Sciences Practices.

With significant experience defending companies in mass tort actions, Mr. Capriotti serves as national coordinating counsel for firm clients. He has tried cases to verdict, negotiated nationwide settlements and dismissals, and served as lead counsel in various complex matters throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey, with a particular focus on claims involving exposures to asbestos, benzene, diacetyl, and other chemical products.

Ms. Stagliano consistently achieves clients’ objectives in jurisdictions that are notoriously challenging for defendants. She regularly represents Fortune 500 companies and independent owner-operators. Ms. Stagliano has extensive experience in both federal and state court, handling litigation from inception to final resolution.

In discussing his decision to join Lewis Brisbois, Mr. Capriotti noted, “Liza and I were looking for an opportunity to expand and grow our careers, and there was nowhere better to do that than at Lewis Brisbois. Because the firm is so large, it gives us a reach that we did not have before.”

Mr. Capriotti received his law degree from the Widener University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Bloomsburg University. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Ms. Stagliano earned her law degree from the Widener University School of Law and her undergraduate degree from St. Joseph’s University. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland.
