Pittsburgh Managing Partner Todd A. Gray and Tampa Partner Taylor McKnight will present on nuclear verdicts at the upcoming American Trucking Associations (ATA) Legal Forum, hosted at the W Hotel in Austin from July 10-13.

Pittsburgh, Pa. (June 28, 2022) – Pittsburgh Managing Partner Todd A. Gray and Tampa Partner Taylor McKnight will present on nuclear verdicts at the upcoming American Trucking Associations (ATA) Legal Forum, hosted at the W Hotel in Austin from July 10-13.

In an informative session on July 11 at 9:20 a.m. titled “Nuclear Verdicts: Pre and Post Covid. Why Is There a Growing Trend in Frequency and Severity, and Is There Anything We Can Do About It?” Mr. Gray and Mr. McKnight will discuss the recent increase of exceptionally large jury awards in the commercial trucking industry. They will also discuss various factors fueling nuclear verdicts, including pre-COVID pandemic factors, such as reactions to government bailouts of irresponsible corporations, the plaintiff bar’s introduction of the Reptile Theory, and the general juror perception that the system is rigged against them.

Mr. Gray is a chair of the Transportation Practice of Lewis Brisbois. He specializes in defending catastrophic injury cases of all types, as well as, other cases with significant exposure in multiple jurisdictions.
