Lewis Brisbois Closes Deal for Jeremy Lin Documentary Premiering at Tribeca Film Festival
Los Angeles Partner Thomas Russell, III and Tampa Partner Steven Holtzman recently completed a transaction on behalf of the Producer of the Academy Award-winning film Two Distant Strangers Samir Hernandez and his company, GTG Entertainment Group, LLC, which provided the necessary financing for the documentary film project titled 38 at the Garden, which will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 12, 2022 and is nominated in five categories.
Los Angeles, Calif. (April 22, 2022) - Los Angeles Partner Thomas Russell, III and Tampa Partner Steven Holtzman recently completed a transaction on behalf of the Producer of the Academy Award-winning film Two Distant Strangers Samir Hernandez and his company, GTG Entertainment Group, LLC, which provided the necessary financing for the documentary film project titled 38 at the Garden, which will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 12, 2022 and is nominated in five categories.
Messrs. Russell and Holtzman worked together to perform all the legal work required to support the film financing for the documentary short. As described in a recent Deadline article, the film examines the cultural impact of NBA trailblazer Jeremy Lin and the phenomenon known as “Linsanity” that surrounded him during his 2011-12 season with the New York Knicks. The documentary revisits Mr. Lin's story in present day - a hostile time for Asian Americans - showing how it has provided hope and shattered stereotypes in the world of sports. 38 at the Garden is the first production from Mr. Hernandez’s GTG Entertainment Group banner and is anticipated to receive many accolades as the film is supported by the basketball community at large, including the support of the Golden State Warriors.
