Fort Lauderdale, Fl. (September 21, 2021) – Fort Lauderdale Partner David Shannon will present at the upcoming National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Tax, Regulatory & Risk Management Conference, hosted at the Las Vegas Convention Center on October 10 at 2:00 p.m. ET.

In the 60-minute session, titled “Non-Business Use: Planning for Tax and Regulatory Compliance,” Mr. Shannon and his co-panelist will discuss the tax and regulatory considerations that need to be accounted for when an aircraft is made available for non-business use. They will explain how SIFL (Standard Industry Fare Level), entertainment use disallowance, and the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) factor into non-business use. They will also provide real-world examples to describe potential impacts of personal use.

This conference will be held from October 10 to 11 and will feature panels from aviation industry experts who will provide the current state of the business aircraft market, tax planning challenges presented by the pandemic, and key federal tax implications for companies that are planning to purchase a business aircraft.

Mr. Shannon is the chair of Lewis Brisbois' Business Aviation Practice, with expertise in structuring the purchase and sale of large long-range business jets and helicopters for Fortune 500 companies, large international corporations, ultra-high net-worth clients, and family offices. He has negotiated complex finance documents with leading global banks, and successfully represented clients regarding multi-million-dollar sales tax liability matters.
