Dean McVay Named La Verne College of Law “Adjunct Professor of the Year” for Tenth Consecutive Year

San Bernardino Partner Dean H. McVay was recently named “Adjunct Professor of the Year” by the University of La Verne College of Law for the tenth year in a row during the school’s “Virtual Barrister’s Ball” on April 9.

San Bernardino, Calif. (April 28, 2021) - San Bernardino Partner Dean H. McVay was recently named “Adjunct Professor of the Year” by the University of La Verne College of Law for the tenth year in a row during the school’s “Virtual Barrister’s Ball” on April 9. Since 1996, Mr. McVay has taught various courses at the law school, including Insurance Law, Healthcare Law, Appellate Advocacy, and Lawyering Skills Practicum.

The law school bestows the annual “Adjunct Professor of the Year” award upon an adjunct professor “who has demonstrated a commitment to students at the College of Law through his/her teaching, mentorship, and other contributions of their time and talents.” The recipient is determined by the votes of the law students.

In sharing his thoughts on receiving this honor, Mr. McVay noted, “Teaching students at the law school for over 25 years has been a thoroughly rewarding experience. I am excited and grateful to have received this award. It means a great deal.”

Mr. McVay is a member of Lewis Brisbois’ Healthcare and Insurance Coverage Practices. He has over 30 years of experience in civil litigation, including health care litigation, insurance coverage and bad faith, real estate, and commercial litigation. With extensive experience defending physicians, hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other healthcare and long-term care professionals and organizations, Mr. McVay handles pre-litigation matters, trials, and appeals.
