Amanda McAllister


Amanda McAllister is an associate in the Minneapolis office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice. She advises clients on compliance with foreign, federal, and state privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation, the e-Privacy Directive, the California Consumer Privacy Act, CAN-SPAM, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. She also assists clients in responding to data security incidents, including advising on data breach statutes and consumer notification obligations. Amanda drafts privacy policies, end user license agreements, cookie notices, and data processing addendums. She holds the Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) and Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) credentials.

While in law school at the University of Minnesota, Amanda was an editor for Minnesota Law Review, where she wrote on legal issues related to artificial intelligence. Amanda also was the student director for the Human Rights Litigation & International Advocacy legal clinic and advocated for measures combating violence against women on behalf of one of her clients at the United Nations. Amanda has volunteered for the Asylum Law Project, the Native American Services Project, the Advocates for Human Rights, Tubman, and the International Refugee Assistance Project to provide pro bono legal services to clients locally and around the globe.
