Angeline Ioannou, Pamela Ferguson to Moderate Panels at Virtual Crittenden Medical Conference

Hartford, Conn. (August 18, 2020) – Hartford Managing Partner Angeline N. Ioannou and San Francisco Partner Pamela Ferguson will both moderate panels at the Crittenden Medical Conference virtual event, taking place September 21 to 23. 

On Monday, September 21 at 12:30 p.m. EDT, Ms. Ioannou will lead a discussion titled “The Price Isn’t Right: Use of Focus Groups to Predict Exposure and Jury Verdicts for Medical Malpractice.” She and the panelists will cover the benefits of using social data to test the waters of the jury pool in certain jurisdictions, and examine the cost-benefit analysis of using a focus group as a trial preparation tool.

The following day, on Tuesday, September 22 at 2:45 EDT, Ms. Ferguson will lead a discussion titled “Opioid Litigation: An Update on Liability, Risk Management and Coverage Issues Involving Medical Providers and the Pharmaceutical Industry,” during which the panelists will analyze the evolving landscape of opioid litigation and related emerging issues.

Ms. Ioannou is a member of Lewis Brisbois’ Healthcare and General Liability Practices with experience in handling healthcare matters and defending claims involving wrongful death and catastrophic injuries.

Ms. Ferguson is vice-chair of the Products Liability, Class Action & Mass Tort, and Life Sciences Practices. She focuses on the defense of complex multi-party litigation involving mass torts, drug, and medical device products liability matters.
