Thomas Dougherty, Jon Olafson to Present at Pikes Peak Cybersecurity Summit for Small Businesses
Denver Partners Thomas A. Dougherty and Jon Olfason will both present at the 2nd Annual Cybersecurity Summit for Small Businesses, hosted by The Pikes Peak Small Business Development Center.
Colorado Springs, Co. (October 22, 2019) – Denver Partners Thomas A. Dougherty and Jon Olafson will both present at the 2nd Annual Cybersecurity Summit for Small Businesses, hosted by The Pikes Peak Small Business Development Center. This one-day event takes place Friday, October 25, at the DoubleTree Hotel in Colorado Springs.
Mr. Dougherty’s first presentation begins at 9:05 a.m. and is titled “Cybersecurity Insurance Considerations.” He will discuss how small businesses can significantly benefit from cyber insurance and the damages that are not covered by traditional liability or property policies.
At 10:50 a.m., Mr. Dougherty will present “Colorado and National Cyber Compliance,” which will cover Colorado’s strict cyber regulation laws that all small businesses within the state must abide. He will also provide tips on how to navigate these laws when doing business with other states.
Then, at 2:15 p.m., Mr. Olafson will present "Cybersecurity Policies & Agreements With Your Employees and Vendors." During this breakout session, Mr. Olafson will provide, from a legal perspective, tips for how small businesses can implement simple policies and agreements to secure their business and client data.
This annual summit provides interactive sessions for professionals of all levels and aims to educate and support small business in Colorado. The presentations will be followed by a happy hour and networking reception.
Mr. Dougherty is a member of Lewis Brisbois’ Intellectual Property & Technology and Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practices. He has experience handling all aspects of IT, SaaS, IP, sponsorship, marketing, cyber security, and other related matters.
Mr. Olafson is a member of Lewis Brisbois' Labor & Employment and Trade Secrets & Non-Compete Disputes Practices. He regularly counsels clients on their domestic and international trade secret protections, corporate espionage, and data privacy & cybersecurity matters.
