Four Partners to Present at NCBA Fall Conference in Washington, D.C.

Sacramento Partners Andrew Bluth and Amy Pierce, and Los Angeles Partners Patrik Johansson and Stephen Turner will all be speaking at the National Creditors Bar Association (NCBA) 2019 Fall Conference in Washington, DC on October 16-19 at the Marriot Marquis. 

Washington, D.C. (October 3, 2019) – Sacramento Partners Andrew Bluth and Amy Pierce, and Los Angeles Partners Patrik Johansson and Stephen Turner will all be speaking at the National Creditors Bar Association (NCBA) 2019 Fall Conference in Washington, DC on October 16-19 at the Marriot Marquis. 

Mr. Turner will first join the panel discussion “Debt Collection Litigation in the Supreme Court,” on Thursday, October 17 at 9:00 a.m. During this discussion, Mr. Turner and his fellow panelists will survey the Supreme Court jurisprudence on collection law, specifically in relation to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and recent changes in how lawyers are handling debt collection cases.

The following day at 2:50 p.m., all four partners will jointly present “Congratulations! You Just ‘Won’ a Cruise on the S.S. TCPA. Unfortunately, the Cruise is Not Free.” This panel presentation will focus on the interplay between the courts and the Federal Communications Commission, with regard to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). The panelists will also offer guidance as to the best practices for TCPA compliance in light of the ambiguity arising out of the current regulatory and judicial landscape.

The NCBA is a bar association dedicated to serving law firms engaged in the practice of creditors rights law, comprised of over 500 law firms and individual members, totaling approximately 2000 attorneys, in the areas of creditors rights law, defense and in-house counsel.
