Shane Singh to Lead HR Webinar on The Crown Act & Hair Discrimination

Sacramento Partner Shane Singh will lead a webinar titled “The Crown Act and How Employees Cannot be Discriminated Against Based on Their Hairstyles,” hosted by the Sacramento Area Human Resource Association (SAHRA), on Tuesday, October 15.

Sacramento, Calif. (September 27, 2019) – Sacramento Partner Shane Singh will lead a webinar titled “The Crown Act and How Employees Cannot be Discriminated Against Based on Their Hairstyles,” hosted by the Sacramento Area Human Resource Association (SAHRA), on Tuesday, October 15. 

Mr. Singh presentation will begin at 10:00 a.m. PST and will cover California’s new legislation, dubbed “The Crown Act,” which makes it illegal for employers to discriminate against employees based on their hairstyle. Mr. Singh will also educate employers and HR staff on the effects this legislation will have in the workplace, namely an increased potential for race discrimination claims.

Mr. Singh is a member of Lewis Brisbois’ Labor & Employment Practice and serves as a national vice-chair of the Hospitality Practice. He handles a variety of cases, ranging from disability discrimination, employment law, business litigation, and real estate to bodily injury matters.
