Adam B. Wiens is the Administrative Partner of the Denver office of Lewis Brisbois, a vice-chair of the Architects & Engineers Practice, and a member of the Energy, Construction, Professional Liability, Complex Business & Commercial Litigation, and General Liability Practices. Adam represents lawyers, insurance brokers and actuaries in professional liability matters. He also has experience representing clients in the energy industry on numerous disputes regarding drilling and completion, mineral rights, lease transactions, environmental disputes and various torts and contracts. Adam’s practice includes defense of engineers in state and federal courts, arbitrations and mediations, involving structural, mechanical, life safety, electrical, petroleum, and civil engineering design defect and contract disputes for commercial, public and residential projects. He also represents companies and their principals in complex civil lawsuits involving commercial matters, real estate, oil and gas, construction, business disputes, securities, and corporate director and officer liability.

While Adam is a proven trial lawyer, he also represents a variety of entities on non-litigation matters and advises start-up companies through the entity formation process, including the formation of limited liability companies, corporations, and partnerships. He also has experience in representing companies on various employment matters, including non-compete agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and trade secret issues.

Adam prides himself on providing personal attention to his clients, getting to know them and their business needs and making himself available to them for matters on a moment’s notice. Adam represents clients in state and federal courts and arbitrations. In his free time, Adam enjoys spending time in the mountains with his wife and two sons.

  • Represented and advised principals of cryptocurrency company in company stock repurchase and employment separation, including non-compete agreement
  • Represented start-up company and its principals in United States District Court for the District of Colorado in defending claims for securities fraud, breach of contract, and misrepresentation exceeding $5 million and prosecuting claims for, among other things, patent infringement, breach of licensing agreement, and misappropriation of trade secrets exceeding $5.4 million
  • Represented regional insurance agency in claims against former producer for misappropriation of trade secrets and breach of non-compete agreement
  • Represented a subcontractor in a $16.4 million claim by homeowners association and builder/vendor involving interior, exterior and common area defects at a 192 unit residential community
  • Represented a regional architectural firm in a claim exceeding $100,000 by a commercial real estate owner involving the construction remodel of an "iconic" commercial property located in Boulder, Colorado
  • Successfully defended a developer and its principals in a complex mutli-party, multi-jurisdiction matter, including national lenders, national mortgage brokers, appraisers and construction professionals, concerning a turn-key single family vacation home investment scheme in a prominent ski town in Colorado
  • Obtained $1 million judgment in securities litigation matter involving a complex multi-party real estate investment scheme
  • Successfully defended a national developer in a mechanic's lien dispute in the Colorado Court of Appeals resulting in favorable decision affirming dismissal of a district court action brought by subcontractor
