David J. Converse is an associate in the Sacramento office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Workers' Compensation Practice. Mr. Converse began his work in the field of Workers’ Compensation Defense as a law clerk for a prominent Sacramento Workers’ Compensation Defense firm in May 2001. After being admitted to the State Bar of California in December 2002, he continued to exclusively practice Workers’ Compensation Defense representing large self-insured employers, counties, cities, school districts and insurance carriers in all aspects of California Workers’ Compensation Law. Mr. Converse also was active in providing small and large seminars to clients and the Workers’ Compensation community, along with speaking at workers’ compensation organizations seminars. In addition, he taught a Workers’ Compensation Law & Policy course through UC Davis Extensions in Sacramento.

In February 2008, Mr. Converse joined with a former colleague to open Andersson | Converse, LLP, a small boutique law firm with a focus on workers’ compensation defense. Mr. Converse continued to represent large self-insured employers, counties, cities, school districts, the Superior Court of California, and insurance carriers in their workers’ compensation claims. After more than 11 years in practice with their two attorney law firm, Mr. Converse’s partner decided to seek employment with the State of California. Not wanting to be a solo practitioner, Mr. Converse, joined Lewis Brisbois’s Sacramento office in June 2019.

Mr. Converse currently lives in the wine region of Lodi, California. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, cooking, wine tasting, attending the performing arts, going to live sporting events, and cheering on the sports teams of his alma mater, Notre Dame (Go Irish!).
