Simi Bhutani is a partner in the New York office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Labor & Employment Practice. She counsels clients and litigates claims of discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, and defamation as well as wage and hour disputes in single-plaintiff and class/collective actions. She represents companies in all aspects of labor and employment law and has appeared in both federal and state courts and before administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, New York State Division of Human Rights and New York City Commission on Human Rights, on behalf of her clients. She has also successfully negotiated out-of-court settlements both independently and through mediations facilitated by private mediators, JAMS and court-sponsored programs.
Ms. Bhutani brings an extensive and multifaceted background to her practice having represented employees in the labor and employment context prior to her joining Lewis Brisbois. She independently litigated cases involving discrimination based on race, national origin, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability and pregnancy in addition to sexual harassment, whistleblower, and unpaid minimum wage and overtime claims. She continues to leverage her prior experience in her current role at Lewis Brisbois.
