(May 14, 2019) - For the second year in a row, Lewis Brisbois has ranked 9th on Law360’s list of the 400 largest U.S. law firms. The list is based on self-reported headcount data as of December 31, 2018, and shows Lewis Brisbois as having 1,308 attorneys in total, with 740 partners. However, since the start of 2019, Lewis Brisbois has opened six new locations and added nearly 100 new attorneys across the firm.

“We are gratified to be in the Top 10 [of the Law360 400] once again this year,” said Los Angeles Co-Managing Partner Steven R. Lewis, who also heads up the firm’s lateral recruitment efforts. “We’ve been investing in and have realized incredible growth over the past 12 months, with new offices opening up in key regions, and critical practice areas benefitting from some impressive lateral hires.”

As Law360 notes, the majority of firms that saw their attorney headcount increase last year did so through mergers. Lewis Brisbois, on the other hand, has followed a strategy of identifying markets where existing clients have a need for the firm’s full suite of legal services, or where new clients would benefit from the firm’s national footprint, and then aggressively pursuing expansion into those markets through new locations and strategic partner hires.
