New York, N.Y. (April 16, 2019) - New York Partners Ellen H. Greiper and Gregory S. Katz will speak at the Advisen Casualty Insights Conference on April 18 at the Crowne Plaza in Times Square. The annual conference, now in its 9th year, is the premiere insurance industry event addressing current issues in the casualty risk management and insurance industries. Ms. Greiper is also serving as a member of the conference's advisory board and has helped shape the agenda of this year's event.
At 11:30 a.m. Ms. Greiper will moderate a three-expert panel titled "Driving Change in Commercial Auto Risk Management," which will discuss how new automobile technologies such as telematics, cameras and other sensors can reduce the frequency and severity of auto accidents, leading to safer roads and lower loss ratios for commercial auto liability insurance risk managers and underwriters.
At 1:15 p.m., Mr. Katz will join a panel titled "Nuclear Verdicts: Crashing Barriers of Sensibility?" He and three other esteemed panel members will discuss the rise of $100 million+ verdicts, what's causing this increase, the implications for the insurance industry, and what strategies and best practices can help insurance buyers avoid these nuclear verdicts.
