Lewis Brisbois’ Consumer Warranty Practice builds on Lewis Brisbois’ vast products liability litigation experience, defending the manufacturing integrity and warranty services of our clients across the nation. Our attorneys serve a wide range of clients’ consumer warranty needs, with an emphasis on acting as trial counsel in both federal and state courts, and serving as local, regional, and national coordinating counsel on large matters involving many parties. Over the years, Lewis Brisbois has defended manufacturers of automobiles, heavy-duty trucks, recreational vehicles, boats, motorcycles, and other products against warranty and other related claims brought by consumer and commercial customers.
In defending consumer litigation claims, we have extensive experience with relevant federal laws, such as the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, and the various state lemon laws, Uniform Commercial Codes, consumer sales practice acts, and common law involved in such cases. We also expertly defend commercial litigation claims involving fraud, negligent misrepresentation, breach of contract, and unjust enrichment.
From consumer cases concerning a single motorcycle to commercial suits involving fleets of vehicles, we help clients navigate the overlapping and evolving legal frameworks both pre-suit and throughout all stages of litigation. The team’s trial counsel is deeply experienced in all facets of litigation, from assisting clients with drafting warranties and developing defense plans, to handling complex litigation involving mass warranty filings.
