(February 8, 2019) – The World Trademark Review (WTR) has recognized three of Lewis Brisbois’ Intellectual Property & Technology partners in the 2019 edition of its research directory World Trademark Review 1000 – The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals. Chicago Partner Jill Anderfuren, Los Angeles Partner Daniel C. DeCarlo, and Atlanta Partner Jonathan D. Goins were all featured in the global directory, which is developed through an exhaustive research process that seeks to identify firms and individuals deemed outstanding in the critical practice of trademark law.

Ms. Anderfuren, who has over 20 years of international trademark experience, was recognized as “very experienced and creative when it comes to prosecution and strategy.” The directory also recognized Ms. Anderfuren for her ability to “get fast-growing companies to where they need to be in double-quick time.” This is the third time she has appeared in the WTR 1000, having also been recognized in 2014 and 2018.

Mr. DeCarlo, who is co-chair of Lewis Brisbois’ Intellectual Property & Technology Practice, was recognized as a recommended expert by the directory for his recent success defense in a multimillion-dollar trademark infringement action brought against client Trophy Depot. He was previously recognized in the WTR 1000 in 2018.

Mr. Goins, who lectures on copyright and trademark law as an adjunct professor at John Marshall Law School, was recognized by the WTR as “a protean IP lawyer” who “litigates assertively, counsels deftly and negotiates deals proficiently.” The directory also noted Mr. Goins recent successful work for Teach for America in an infringement suit, allowing the organization to continue using it’s ‘Million Words Campaign’ slogan. He was previously recognized in the WTR 1000 in 2018.

The WTR looks at various factors when determining which law firms and individuals are included in the WTR 1000, such as depth of expertise and market presence, along with positive peer and client reviews.
