(February 1, 2019) – Denver Managing Partner Todd R. Seelman and St. Louis Managing Partner Tracy Cowan were recently quoted by The American Lawyer (part of Law.com) in their article, “Lewis Brisbois Launches New Offices in Washington and St. Louis.”

Mr. Seelman, who is also the national chair of Lewis Brisbois’ Antitrust & Competition Practice, spoke to The American Lawyer about opening a new office in Washington, D.C., which Mr. Seelman will co-manage with Katherine I. Funk, the firm’s newest antitrust partner.

“D.C. is really the center of the universe in regulatory work, and we’ve been wanting to open up an office, but we wanted to find the right time, space and person to do that,” said Mr. Seelman in the article.

Lewis Brisbois announced the opening of their office in D.C. in a press release on January 25 and their St. Louis office in a press release on January 23.

Mr. Cowan, who opened Lewis Brisbois’ St. Louis office with a team of four from his previous firm, shared his motivations with The American Lawyer for moving to the national, full-service law firm.

“Lewis Brisbois is a much larger firm than Hawkins Parnell, in terms of a platform, and it certainly has offices in numerous cities where we didn’t previously with my prior firm,” Mr. Cowan said.

The article also makes reference to Lewis Brisbois' new office in Charlotte, North Carolina and quoted Mr. Seelman on Lewis Brisbois’ future growth plans.

“We look at each market and each city and each office independently and say, ‘how does it all connect to what we already do and expand what we do, so that we have a full panoply of legal services to our clients and provide them the best service that we can,’” Mr. Seelman said. “We will continue along that clip.”
