Sarah A. Adam is a partner in the New York office of Lewis Brisbois. As a member of the Professional Liability Practice, Ms. Adam defends legal malpractice claims as well as negligence, fraud and contract claims asserted against a variety of businesses and professionals in federal and State courts.
Prior to joining Lewis Brisbois in 2018, Ms. Adam worked at a boutique criminal defense and complex civil litigation firm in New York. In supporting the civil litigation practice, Ms. Adam represented federally-appointed Chapter 7 Trustees of bankrupt financial institutions in adversary proceedings against former officers, professionals and outside counsel to recoup fraudulently transferred assets for the debtor’s estate. Ms. Adam also represented plaintiff investors in federal lawsuits and FINRA arbitration claims for securities fraud, breach of contract and unsuitable investments; and defended clients alleged to have violated Rule 10b-5. Her practice also entailed the representation of business owners in a variety of high-stakes federal lawsuits ranging from alleged trademark infringement in connection with the importation of international blood glucose test strips, to suits seeking defamation and tortious interference damages against former business partners. Ms. Adam has also handled civil forfeiture proceedings, construction claims, and various tort and contract suits in New York and New Jersey State courts.
