Los Angeles Partner David M. Samuels, Atlanta Partner Seth M. Friedman, Dallas Partner Nichol Bunn, and Los Angeles Partner Barry Kaiman will present at the 2018 CLM Annual Conference, which will be held March 14 to 16 in Houston.

Los Angeles Partner David M. Samuels, Atlanta Partner Seth M. Friedman, Dallas Partner Nichol Bunn, and Los Angeles Partner Barry Kaiman will present at the 2018 CLM Annual Conference, which will be held March 14 to 16 in Houston.

Samuels will participate in a panel titled “Putting the Client First, Increasing Awareness of Litigation Impacts for Insureds” at 10:10 a.m. on March 15. The panel will focus on increasing the awareness and sensitivity of claims professionals to matters that can directly impact the insured’s day-to-day operations.

At 11:30 a.m. on March 15, Friedman will speak on a panel titled “The Crossroads of Coverage, Liability and Sovereign Immunity.” The panel will discuss what happens when plaintiffs challenge language in insurance policies to government entities that state the purchase of the policy is not a waiver of sovereign immunity.

Bunn will appear at 2 p.m. on March 15 in a panel titled “Danger Zone: Healthcare Liabilities Associated with Natural Disasters.” The panel aims to offer an appreciation of the risks and effects of outbreaks and natural disasters and an understanding of best practices to manage the risks of resulting claims.

Kaiman will participate in a panel titled “Rethinking Claims and Litigation Management with the Proposed Restatement of Law on Liability Insurance,” which will start at 3:25 p.m. on March 15. The panel will discuss the potential impacts for the American Law Institute’s proposed restatement of the law on liability insurance.
